Michael F. Metzger is a seasoned litigator who focuses his practice on insurance coverage, mainly first-party property and third-party liability claims including professional and directors' and officers' liability. Mr. Metzger also handles defense of contract and tort claims related to the hospitality industry with an emphasis on cross-border litigation.
Mr. Metzger received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1984. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 1998 at the University of San Diego School of Law. Mr. Metzger is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania, New Jersey and California state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern District of California, the District of New Jersey, and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He has appeared pro hac vice in cases throughout the United States. Mr. Metzger is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
Prior to joining Clinton & Clinton, Mr. Metzger practiced with a national law firm. Prior to attending law school, he saw extensive sea duty with the U.S. Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, as well as in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield. After serving as Supply Officer of the USS JACK (SSN-605), he transferred to the surface line where he served aboard USS O'BRIEN (DD-975) ultimately as Operations Officer. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
